When packing boxes it is helpful if they are packed in
such a way that they will maintain their shape and structural integrity
when stacked in transit. We accept that not all boxes can be packed in
this way, such boxes should be labelled fragile so that we can stack
them on top of more sturdy boxes. We recommend that all boxes be secured
so that their bottom cannot fall out when being carried. If boxes need
to be carried and stacked a certain way up then the topside should be
labelled. We recommend all boxes be labelled with their contents.
When packing we recommend using a consecutive sized box to make stacking
easier and more effective. Heavier items such as books should be packed
in small amounts in amongst lighter items such as clothes.
Fragile items such as kitchen glasses should be carefully wrapped in
paper. You can use crate paper but newspaper is just as effective.
Items such as CDs can be packed into boxes but it is far less time
consuming to wrap the entire CD rack in cling film.
